Pianists Arthur Gold (1917 - 1990) and Robert Fizdale (1920 - 1995) met as students at the Julliard and became a devoted couple for the rest of their lives. They were known in artistic circles as "The Boys" (or "The Boyz"). They were highly acclaimed such that several modern composers created works for two pianos (four hands) just for them. (The Rietti Suite on this LP is one of those works.) After Gold's piano abilities were compromised by a hand condition (in the 1970s), the pianists turned to writing biographies (including of Sarah Bernhardt) and cooking (including co-hosting a TV show).
Please see above for detailed description of condition and for photos. Sold as is.
