Description
Here we have a copy of "There’s A Bond Between Us" by the noted British beat/blues quartet The Graham Bond Organization on the U.K. Columbia label. This is a later ’60s black/silver label pressing, from a couple of years after the black/blue label first issue. The second of the band’s two albums, it’s featured in Hans Pokora’s 2001 Record Collector Dreams (where it gets 2 out of 6 discs for rarity, and a "Masterpiece of Music" designation). Famous for including a pre-Cream Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker, the group specialized in gritty R&B, and there’s plenty of that on this disc (as well as some of the first recordings of the Mellotron).
The laminated flipback sleeve is nearly VG++, with creasing around the edges, very minor corner wear and feathering at the opening. There's a tiny bit of ringwear on the back. The disc, too, is pretty nice, between VG+ and VG++, with a few visible scratches on each side which mostly do nothing (though there’s slight crackle in some places).
Not the absolute first pressing, true, but still a very tough to locate ’60s original. Both their LPs are musts for British beat and blues fans!
