Description

A serious rarity for fans of cranky experimental rumblers and scratchers The Shadow Ring, Poem (For Voice & Tape) is the debut solo release from that group's Graham Lambkin. This was the first record to appear on Lambkin's Kye label, issued in an edition of 200 copies that sold out instantly. Graham made a tape of fellow Shadow Ringster Tim Goss performing "an animated and robust reading, drawn exclusively from work of his own creation," then turned this material into something altogether different -- slowing it down to the point of complete incomprehensibility, then adding dripping, splattering liquid sounds to complete the piece. Utterly hypnotic, and equally as enjoyable when played at 45 speed. The record is in flawless, near-mint condition, as is the cover but for a small dent on the lower left hand corner.
