Grant Green Grant's First Stand • Original Pressing, First-issue 1961 Blue Note BN4064 • Plastylite "Ear" P mark on both sides • "RVG" in dead wax • Deep Groove (DG) Labels • Original 47 West 63rd NYC address • includes Mobile Fidelity poly-lined archival inner sleeve and 5.0mil ultimate outer sleeve
Condition (Goldmine Standard):
Vinyl (conservative grading in bright, direct sunlight): Side 1 VG. Side 2 Strong VG to VG+. Under the glaring sunlight, both sides of the record have strong luster with typical superficial sleeve scuffing from respectful handling. Side 1 has a couple of thin scratches that cause some noise/clicking during parts of play, but it never overpowers the music. Side 2 would be called outright "VG+" by some, but there are a couple very light borderline superficial hairlines. Very clean labels.
Audio: Still has that rich original Blue Note sound! Overall still very high fidelity. Occasional light noise mentioned above. Nothing that overpowers listening. A very enjoyable record. Hear the sample below...
Cover: Strong VG. See images. A very sound cover structurally with no bends or creases. Nearly perfect title spine. Front and back are very presentable. Top and bottom edges have the start of splits that haven't come through. Some vintage tape on bottom spine. Opening edge on front has some light flaking to the laminate. Back cover has some very light pen-drawn arrows enthusiastically pointing to "Grant Green." A very nice cover still.
