Description
An absolutely beautiful 16in x 12in framed reproduction poster of an early concert by a truly great American institution, The Grateful Dead. This concert, at Muir Beach, California, some time in late 1965 (date unknown) also featured other prominent members of the Californian counterculture who would, over the next two years or so, become some of the most influential artists in American and British pop culture, namely the poet Allen Ginsberg and the legendary Merry Pranksters, led by Ken Kesey (who would be known later as the author of the One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest), all of whom were living in a commune in La Honda, California. This concert is believed to have taken place in December 1965 just after the Dead had changed their name from the Emergency Crew and were taking part in "Acid Tests", led by Ken Kesey as part of public experimentations with the then-legal hallucinogenic substance LSD.
