These two shows have long been among my favorites from 1976. These shows were part of Bill Graham's A Day on the Green and the Dead was sharing the bill with The Who. Betty Cantor-Jackson was also back to recording the band after being absent from the Fall tour after her husband and crew member Rex Jackson was killed in a car accident earlier in the year. Dan Healy recorded the Fall tour on reels from the PA feed.

The performances here are all hot and extra heavy more than likely inspired by the band they were sharing the bill with. Even the shorter more straightforward songs like Mama Tried have an extra little kick to them. That doesn't mean that they couldn't deliver ballads like Stella Blue with the delicacy that they needed. They also deliver the big jammy numbers with extra gusto. Listen to the Playing in the Band jam or the Saint Stephen -> Not Fade Away -> Saint Stephen -> Help on the Way -> Slipknot! -> Drums -> Samson and Delilah -> Slipknot! -> Franklin's Tower! Whew.
