The Amazing !!! 5/4/79 Hampton Coliseum Show - on Two ( 2 ) Vinyl LP's !! - Right at the Start of the Grateful Dead " Brent-Era " !!!!!

Grateful Dead! & Vinyl Fans Everywhere!!!  "Wow!"..... is merely the starting-point of all that can said about this "Huge"!!! & much-unexpected Grateful Dead Productions / Rhino 180-Gram Vinyl release of the Hampton '79 Show!!!  And while this is a vital "staple" amongst the Grateful Dead Fan "Taper" circles - and has been for decades now... who would have ever-thought that one day we would all collectively have the opportunity & honor to own This-One! ... on Vinyl!!!  And, just like the San Jose Show (being the 1st Brent Show) was the tape that every Dead Fan had to hear & have... this 5/4/79 Hampton Show was really the-first! Show where the Band was Collectively-Explosive! through & through with Brant in the Band!!  And, with both Keith & Donna Godchaux leaving the Grateful Dead in early 1979... this here Hampton '79 Show was indeed only the 3rd Show of Brent Mydland with the Band!  And... this was certainly a song-selection friendly performance for Brent to really dig his teeth & Keys! into... as this was indeed a Miracle > Bertha > Good Lovin' Night! -- along with Estimated > Eyes! too.  Loser, Minglewood, Truckin', Stella Blue - I mean you name it.  Live-Dead material in the '79 rotation with huge jam-pockets & inviting changes everywhere for not only Brent to attack, but... the whole darn Band!  This is just one of those nights where everyone is feelin' fine, the Drummers are spot-on, Phil is booming, Weir is a timing-machine, and Garcia is just on Fire!!!  Getting after-it Huge!! - just like he seriously began to in '79, and even with this being Brent's early-days... as there was indeed a clear synergy between him & Garcia - right from the start.  The Good Ol' Grateful Dead played the Hampton Coliseum ( aka. "The Spaceship" ) twenty-one times over their Magnificent! 30-Year Career - and... this here May 4, 1979 Show - is the Very-First!!!  Yet another thing that makes this release so incredibly cool, but - you know... like it needs any hype.  The 2014 Record Store Day ( RSD ! ) "Exclusive" for The Grateful Dead!!!  A Beyond "WoW" Vinyl! release for '79... and, at least in my opinion - this is also one that will be hard to top!  Right-up there at the top, with Smokin' Live G.D. playing coating all four sides of this 180 gram Rock & Roll Treasure!!!  Enjoy !!!!!
