Up for auction is the pretty cool hippie psych legendary debut Lp by the Grateful Dead on Warner Brothers 7 Arts records. You need this! Super clean vinyl!! Label is gold this is stereo and a nice original Rock and Roll artifact from BEFORE the summer of love!!
After they morphed from Warlocks and playing at the be-ins and acid tests around the Bay area it was time to lay down some serious notes in the studio and the result was this still (after all these years) mind blowing result of their best material up to that time with Pigpen and original line up! Recorded at the time in state of the art stereo, recorded in only 4 days it still holds up well and is worth owning for the cover alone, with the added bonus of being on the original gold label! The idea was to capture their live show in the studio, since the Dead were always a better live band and they do a great job of capturing that feel even in the cold studio. Classics abound on this disk like New New Minglewood Blues, Good Morning Little School Girl, Cream Puff War, Viola Lee Blues, so get on the Golden Road to Unlimited Devotion!
LP is super clean! Jacket is clean on front and back as seen in photos and not bad for a 47+ year old! Some age wear on the back as shown in the photos and still hard to find in this nice condition! No reserve and reasonable start!
We rate this to be a 5 star album and a must for genuine acid heads / hippie psych collectors! Or really anyone with a sense of history!!
