Description

Original UK Dawn label stereo 1st press LP. Gravy Train was a group from St Helens formed by vocalist and guitarist Norman Barratt in 1969. It also featuring J.D. Hughes (keyboards, vocals, wind), Les Williams (bass, vocals) and Barry Davenport (drums), the band recorded four studio albums. The first two were released by Vertigo, the latter two by Dawn Records. This is a very early pressing of their final LP, with the stereo/date on the right side of the labels, no gap above the 'Made In England' text and the earliest A-2G B-2G matrices and A-1 C-1 stampers.
  The matt gatefold sleeve is intact & in VG+ condition, with some light corner/edge wear and some storage rubbing on the outer cover, the inner cover is intact and in EX condition. The spine is intact and fully readable, the plain company inner is intact & in EX condition.   The record is in visually EX condition, with a few faint & wispy sleeve removal hairlines marks & a couple of light needle scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with a couple of faint spindle markings on either side.   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops, hiss or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief background noise during the run in grooves, overall a really great, loud & clear listen.   The matrix nos. are; DNLH-1, A-2G mother stamper A-1, B-2G mother stamper C-1
This is one of very earliest copies of the 1st pressing of the original 1974 UK stereo 1st issue of this album!     All records are checked on an Acoustic Research deck before being listed and any flaws noted in the listing, so if you have any problems with the record please contact me for a full refund of original price & postage on return of the record (no partial refunds), no quibbles, no problems!!    All grades are those used in the Record Collector Guide.
