Description

For sale is Grease, The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, originally released in 1978 by RSO Records as a double album set with a gate-fold presentation. According to the liner notes, the record was mastered by Bernie Grundman. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is etched "(PR)", followed by the matrix numbers PW-1/PW-1/PW-1/PW-1, indicating that the first stamper was used to make these albums at Presswell Records Manufacturing Corporation's pressing plant located in Ancora, New Jersey. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. I bought this album set used, professionally cleaned the records on my VPI HW-17 machine and put them into two MFSL archival inner sleeves. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. The inner sleeves are graded as Excellent because of bent, wrinkled corners. The cover is graded as VG+ because of stress cracks along the spine, edge rubs, ring wear and corner blunts. The spine has some color loss at the corners from these blunts and in the middle from stress cracks. The vinyl is visually graded as VG+ because of sleeve marks and surface scratches. I'm play grading it as Near Mint Minus for Sides One, Three and Four with occasional low level surface noise, most noticeable between tracks. Side Two has some rotational ticking during "Alone at a Drive-In Movie', along with occasional surface noise, neither of which over power the music. This has been played only on Audiophile equipment since I bought it and has a lot of life left to it. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. I have more Soundtrack albums, as well as records of all different genres, in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're predominately Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing.   I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
