It is with a heavy heart that I sell my beloved record albums, especially those which have memories firmly attached to them. This original "Great White Wonder", as it came to be known, is one of those with memories: I bought it in the summer of 1969. I was going to college at Oregon State in Corvallis. One of my record freak buddies burst in one day and told me we had to get our asses down to the local indie music guy and check out a new Dylan album available in limited quantities. Actually the guy sold gear, speakers and so on, wasn't really a record shop, but in his back room he had a box containing maybe 25 to 50 copies of this totally unmarked double album. He played a couple of cuts to prove it was Dylan & I snapped up a copy. Both discs are on unmarked white labels (BUT I wrote a side number on each label) in the original glassine sleeves. These glassine sleeves have, not surprisingly, long side splits (I also wrote Great White Wonder down the top of spine, hopefully visible in photo)
Side 1 has a really FAINT matrix inscription: GF001, side 2 GF002 (less faint), likewise 3 (GF003) & 4 (GF004).
The Vinyl is very clean, played only a few times on good equipment, no scratches. This is no audiophile recording, however, as you well know if you have any knowledge of this recording, pretty much THE ORIGINAL BOOTLEG
RECORD of the rock era. I can provide track listing if you want, but it is the original content. Side 2 (flip of side 1 & with 002 matrix#) starts with '(unfinished blues/103)' & ends with 'This Wheel's On Fire". Side 3 is 'Baby Please Don't Go' thru "Man of Constant Sorrow". I'm not sure what this means, but some early editions apparently have these 2 sides opposite of this.
The glassine liners have edge splits & there is some bottom edge splitting on the white jacket & light-moderate wear in places to the slick white coating.
