This set was issued in 1983 which had to be purchased over a period of time to collect all 25 box sets to complete the set of 100 LPs. It is made up of 25 beautiful quality boxes with gold embossed lettering each containing 4 LPs pressed on deep red vinyl. Each box covers a specific period in Jazz from the beginning of Jazz recordings up to the 1980s when the set was compiled and includes a lavishly illustrated booklet with many rare photos and biographies of the main participating artists with full track listings and discography. This complete set is the Institute of Jazz Studies Official Archive Collection and contains more than 1200 recordings representing the very best title tracks of each artist. The original cost of the set was over £1000 at the time. Also included are most of the 25 letters sent out with each boxed set of 4 LPs. 


All vinyl LPs are in excellent to near mint condition (to be honest I doubt the original owner ever played them much at all other than maybe once or twice when first received) Printed booklets accompanying each boxed set are in excellent to near mint condition.
