Description
Gregg Allman was part of The Allman Brothers, an American southern rock band formed in 1969 by brothers Duane Allman (slide guitar, lead guitar), and Gregg Allman (vocals, keyboard, songwriter). Duane Allman was killed in a motorcycle crash in 1971. Gregg wanted to continue and he pursued a solo career. "Laid Back" is his debut solo album released in 1973. Two singles were released to promote the album, "Midnight Rider", and "Don't Mess Up A Good Thing". The album explores varying influences, including rhythm and blues, folk, gospel, and soul music. The album title was a studio term Allman coined for relaxing a song's tempo. The cover was painted by Abdul Mati Klarwein. This has Gregg Allman's best singing on any of his solo albums. The gatefold cover is in very good+ condition. The vinyl is in excellent condition. Capricorn Records, #CP 0116. Thank you for looking. (Grading Order: Mint, Near Mint, Excellent, Very Good+, Very Good, Good, etc.)
