Great Original Mono 1968 UK 1st pressing : Instant :  INLP 003 : Matrix : INLP0003-1L-1, INLP0003-2L-3
 
 The 'Instant' record label is a relativly unknown spin-off from the 1960's 'Immediate' record label. Andrew Loog Oldham, Tony Caldery and David Callison set about recording a remarkable and totaly obscure dive into Psychadelia and this LP, "Gulliver's Travels", clearly stands out as being one of Oldham's strangest projects.
 Based on the famous Jonathan Swift book, the Oldham-produced album is an early attempt at a concept piece. Described as "a musical journey inspired by Jonathan's Swift's story", the album features a bizarre mix of song fragments (including unlicensed snippets of The Lovin' Spoonful's "Do You Believe In Magic" and a couple of Little Richard cops), sound effects (courtesy of David Collison), backward tapes and heavily orchestrated incidental music. 
 Elsewhere, the title track featured a performance by former Manfred Mann vocalist Mike D'Abo. (I cannot confirm this, but I am also led to believe that the Small Faces and the Nice also appear on the LP).
 All in all, it's exceptionally strange and occasionally quite taking and is one of those LPs best heard through a good pair of headphones. 
 Unfortunately, the failure to secure copyright/licensing rights for the song fragments saw the LP pulled from circulation within a few weeks. Needless to say, good copies of the original LP are extremely rare.

Record is EX, Sleeve is EX. A realy Great Copy. Probably the only copy of the original LP that will be offered for sale for a very long time.
