FACTORY SEALED Guns N' Roses, Appetite for Destruction with Banned Cover.
In 1987, I worked in a record store in Akron, Ohio, known as Record Theatre. Right after these arrived at the store, we were told to not put them on the floor since a new (non-offensive) cover was forthcoming. They were never put on the floor and never stickered with a price tag. I figured I'd buy a few and see if they were worth something some day. Probably the only halfway smart decision I made in those days. Anyway, the point is that I'm the original owner. These have been stored and untouched for over 25 years now - hard to believe.
These are still in the original, factory seal. They have the original sticker naming the signature songs and warning of unsuitable language.
The corners are solid - not smashed or dented. No creases in the covers. The plastic seal is intact all around.
I am selling THREE of these. In the interest of full disclosure, there is a very small mark or scuff on the top/back of each cover in the exact same spot on each one I'm selling (see last photo). It is more on the back of the cover than the top/edge. The plastic seal over the mark is entirely intact, which very likely means the mark is from the factory. Also, ONLY on the one pictured, there is a similar mark near the bottom right corner of the front cover (see first photo) - again the plastic seal is completely intact so this must have been a factory mark. This mark is NOT present on the other two LPs. I will sell the pictured LP last, so if you're the first or second buyer, your LP will NOT have the mark near the lower right corner.*
*UPDATE: One has been sold, so there are now two remaining. If you are interested in purchasing the remaining two, I will discount the second by $10.00 (for a total of $400.00).
You're very unlikely to find one in better shape after 26 years. Having said that, I'm not an expert on LP assessment. Therefore, if you have any specific questions, ask away. I will do my very best to answer as soon as I can. Please - ask questions before you buy - I want you to be happy with your purchase!
