Hannibal

'S/T'

B&C, UK, 1970

CAS 1022

WONDERFUL ERUDITE British heavy progressive jazz rock band discoevred and managed by Jim Simpson, the very same man who managed Black Sabbath during the early seventies. It was Simpson who was twaling the mMidlands at the time looking for progressive rock talent and, apart from the Sabs, he came up with some corkers including Bakerloo and Indian Summer. Hannibal were another truly great find chasing the same musical pot of gold as Colloseum, If, Iguana and Running Man - solid progressive rock moves with a free form jazz influence and great long HEAVY tracks. In fact, there are only three songs each side including 'Winds Of Change', 'Bend For A Friend', 'Wets Legs' and the brilliant '1066'. I love this album - its complicated, musical and full of wonderfully unexpected twists and turns; a real light night, lights down, barn burner.

Produced by Rodger Bain who had handled the production chops on the first three Black Sabbath albums, Budgie and Judas Priest amongst others so you know the quality must be great.

Album sleeve designed by the enigmatic and highly talented Keef - the man responsible for most of the early Vertigo sleeves.

Beautiful copy.

This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Pressing: B&C, UK, 1970

Vinyl: Beautiful clean condition. No spindle marks and virtually no signs of use. Grades as top MINT-!

Cover: No signs of use. Issued in a beautifully designed (by Keef) gatefold cover - as you know this is a hard one to find with a decent sleeve, for some reason nearly every copy I've ever seen has had a price sticker tear on the front. This one is in almost pristine condition. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is stiff, square and uncrushed. Grades as an almost shop fresh MINT-!

Inserts: None
