Description
Full title HAPSHASH AND THE COLOURED COAT FEATURING THE HUMAN HOST AND THE HEAVY METAL KIDS. Hapshash & The Coloured Coat were an art collective comprised mainly of the founding graphic-design artists Michael English and Nigel Waymouth. Aside from designing posters for underground happenings in London, the pair enlisted musician friends as part of their inclusive art concept. Among their contributions to the pop scene were a couple of avant-garde, stoned tribal recordings including this, their first lp released in 1967. Methinks The Heavy Metal Kids and friends were enlisted off of the street because this sounds very much like other 'instant' creations of the period. Think ESP Disk, or the early Amon Düül collective.
