Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. Highly scarce, from long time ago, very limited exact 2ndpress with high sound quality...was only around shortly and many years before the Akarma or any other issue of the band -- this is the straight non digitalized best quality pressing (as read in Acid Archives) of FUZZY DUCK the famous 1970 hard progressive rock collectible...first issue sells for $$$ quickly ....
FUZZY DUCK bassist Mick Hawksworth had spent the latter sixties with future Atomic Rooster alumnus John Du Cann in the hard-core psych band The Five Day Week Straw People & Andromeda ...
Frankly, "Fuzzy Duck" is a very strong and original album. FUZZY DUCK's music features pleasant vocals, a tight rhythm-section, strong guitarwork and, the most delightful element, floods of Hammond organ... We find it much better than many of the other albums that were released in 1970, including those by Focus, Colosseum, Hawkwind, Wishbone Ash, and even some of the popular progressive bands of the era. Fuzzy Duck had everything to become the cult band - at least like the same Hawkwind and Wishbone Ash. Doubtless, if the "Fuzzy Duck" LP would've been properly released and distributed, it would have been one of the most popular albums at that time.
Overall, FUZZY DUCK is a blend of Classic Art-Rock and Hard Rock. However, only four out of seven songs completely conform to that definition. These are Time will Be Your Doctor and Mrs. Prout, Country Boy, and In Our Time (tracks 1, 2, 6, & 7). Each of them contains a few lengthy sizzling guitar parts, most of which consist of high-speed and hard-edged arrangements. All of the songs are filled with essential progressive ingredients like frequent changes of tempo and mood, odd measures, diversity and, often, contrasting interplay between solos of organ and bass guitar -- playing a prominent role in the development of arrangements throughout the album. With regard to the 'level of progressiveness' however, Mrs. Proud and especially Country Boy (2 & 6) surpass all the other songs on the album. Structurally, all three of the remaining tracks: Just Look Around You, Afternoon Out, and More Than I Am (3, 4, & 5), are not unlike those songs that are described above, just with a lesser hard-edged style. Nevertheless, the instrumental arrangements that are featured on them flow nonstop, which is typical for the album as a whole. In that way, all the songs that were present on the "Fuzzy Duck" LP should well appeal to both hardrock & progressive fans from the 'heavy old early 70's days'...
Over the years, FUZZY DUCK have achieved a kind of Holy Grail status, with original pressings trading for the prerequisite stupid sums of money, but belying the fact that they were a really good band who were just victims of corporate stupidity...
