Original 1972 UK stereo press LP on Purple label (#TPSA 7505)
HARD STUFF titled "Bulletproof"
1st press machine stamped 1U/1U matrix numbers
CONDITION:
laminated gatefold cover: VG/VG+
lite shelf wear/soiling ~tiny wear/fray to corners ~ lite humidity ripple
thin surface paper tear along spine ~ please check out pix
vinyl: Excellent
clean & glossy ~ a lite turntable mark on 1 if the S1 tracks & 1 faint needlemark on S2 ~ very superficial
Side 2 has a couple tiny faint marks & 1 tiny scratch ~ makes 2 or 3 quick soft clicks ~
all else looks blemish-free & plays great ~ only faint surface noise
litely noticeable on intro & between several of the tracks ~ nothing of concern

It is heavy and it is loud. Period reviews mused on the Purple influence and they are not far from the mark, but only if organ were excised from the mix, to be replaced by guitars, guitars, and more guitars. Du Cann showboats through the album, a ferocious assault that is at times reminiscent of a lot less bluesy Cream or Taste, but fellow Rooster alumni Paul Hammond (drums) and veteran bassist John Gustafson are equally on the ball, to create an album that was hallmarked by virtuosity as much as volume, and truly deserved to be heard.
