Harold Winston "Harry" Beckett (30 May 1935 – 22 July 2010) was a British trumpeter and flugelhorn player of Barbadian origin. Born in Bridgetown, Saint Michael, Barbados, Harry Beckett learned to play music in a Salvation Army band. A resident in the UK since 1954, he had an international reputation. In 1961, he played with Charles Mingus in the film All Night Long. In the 1960s he worked and recorded within the band of bass player and composer Graham Collier. Beginning in 1970, he led groups of his own, recording for Philips, RCA and Ogun Records among other labels.
Item Description/Condition:
This is a first issue album release from 1970 on the Philips Record Labels. Manufactured in the UK on a heavy quality vinyl LP with original sturdy, glossy laminated UK Manufactured picture sleeve.
Both Record Labels and both sides of the quality LP are in superb Near Mint condition, super clean record labels with just a few light play signs, and a beautiful quality vinyl LP with stunning surfaces to both sides with only a couple of light hairlines. The sound quality and music content of this album is without doubt absolutely stunning with a great play back quality too, without pops, clicks or background noise.
The matrix’s are. Side 1, 6308026 1 Y #1 420 1 1 1 and Side 2, 6308026 2 Y #1 420 1 1 1.
The LP is housed in its original glossy laminated Picture Sleeve and is in superb and undamaged Excellent Plus condition with just the mildest of LP indentation and a couple of mild corner bumps, both edges and spine edge are free from splits with just light fading to the spine edge, the back panel of the sleeve is perfect.
