Description
This is an "IMPROVED RECORDS" record by "HARRY MACDONOUGH". The song title is "KILLARNEY" # A-95. HARRY MACDONOUGH was very famous in the late 1800'S and early 1900'S. The song plays without skipping and plays out rather clear. Of course there is noise due to the age and condition of the record. See photo for condition of record. These records were not recorded at 78 rpms. They actually were recorded around 70-75 rpms. So, when played at 78 rpms, they sound a little higher in pitch but are still easy to understand. These are likely the first flat disc records ever made. I researched IMPROVED RECORDS. They are a sort of spin-off of the original E. BERLINER GRAMAPHONE record. The next generation after "IMPROVED RECORDS" is "VICTOR RECORDS". VICTOR of course became RCA. These are super rare. This item is sold "AS-IS".
