Probably a sole survivor - Certainly with Unique Period Decoration!


Description

This ultra rare item is a one-sided metal acetate from Trident Studios, (United Artists), with a contemporaneous and unique cartoon sketch on the label. Back then the term "Black Bomber" had different, I daresay somewhat happier, associations than today! I don't know who did the drawing, perhaps someone can recognise the distinctive handwriting from the same pen? When new, acetates deliver the highest sound quality of any record, however they are easily worn or damaged. This disc has a few surface marks on the playing side, please refere to first photo, which while visually prominant do not affect it's playing. No skips or jumps when tested on my system upon purchase. In fact, the sound quality remains surprisingly good. The "B" side of the disc is unrecorded, and was originally completely smooth. It looks like it was glued to the wall or something, however, and has glue residue and a couple of small patches of exposed metal as a result (grey in the second photo). It is not difficult to imagine the scenario in which all the marks and doodles were accumulated, and so they can be considered a part of the rich and very colourful history of that period.
