Earlier in 2017 Charles Hayward (This Heat) and Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth) spent an afternoon at Lynchmob studios, improvising on drums and guitar respectively. It was the third time these iconic musicians had played together - they recorded the session through a famous 1969 Neve console, originally built for the BBC. Charles Hayward has been a prominent figure in British music over the last 40 years, notably part of the revered This Heat and now touring the world in its phoenix-like rebirth as This Is Not This Heat. Thurston Moore spent 30 years fronting the groundbreaking and massively influential Sonic Youth, in addition to numerous collaborative and experimental side-projects plus running the SYR imprint, and his own Ecstatic Peace label. 'Improvisations' is a limited run, vinyl-only release available up to 500 copies.
