Description

Raimonds Pauls - Lana (Daiga, US 1972) Cover/Record: M- (lyric insert) Rare privately pressed lp from Pittsburgh, Pennsylania. Unknown American only release by Latvian artist Raimonds Pauls. Pauls is usually known for his crooning vocal style and occasional soul/funk releases but this one is VERY different.  Side two plays into Pauls familiar zone, doing mostly ballads. Side one, however is a side long concept piece comprised of five movements and he is backed by his Riga Radio Ensemble. It is mostly in the prog/psych rock area with funk elements vocals by Pauls and female vocalist Nora Bumbiere. Fuzzed guitar breaks, flute and some of the strangest keyboard work you'll hear are included. Check out the track below for the first part of side 1. Good luck!
