Has Moon and Anthem Matrix #’s
Title/Label: Rush (Anthem ANR-1-1001)
Vinyl Condition: Ex- (scuffing/marks listen...there's some light sound at points...)
Cover Condition: Ex- (light staining in parts and overall wear)
Notes: Most collectors don’t even know this exists. I spent twenty years as a Rush specialist selling the rarest Rush records from around the globe. I’ve sold nearly 20 copies of the Moon 45, for example.
Description: This is the very very first Anthem pressing. In Canada this LP was first released on
Moon Records; then for a few hundred copies a red label Mercury that had a Mercury cover stamped over the Moon Records cover (then for a very short time just the red label). Then we had the Mercury “buildings” label. Finally, Rush became such a franchise that they started the Anthem label. When they first did the first LP the Mercury pressing plates seem to have been worn out, so they had to use the Moon Records plates. CHECK OUT THE MATRIX!! It has the MN 100 A and MN 100 B matrix numbers. Wonder what I’m talking about???????????? Ask. Or check the dead vinyl at the end of the LP and you’ll see that your Anthem copy has the numbers ANR 1-1001 lightly written into the dead wax… this LP has it too BUT THE MOON matrix is there too…scratched out.
