Bio/Comments : John Richard 'Jackie' Lomax (b. 10 May 1944, Wallasey, Cheshire, England) is a British guitarist and singer/songwriter best known for his association with George Harrison and Eric Clapton.

In early 1962, Jackie Lomax joined Merseybeat band The Undertakers. They followed the same route as The Beatles through local venues before setting out for Hamburg, Germany and finally securing a record deal.

Later in 1967 he signed with Apple Records and released a couple of records. After Brian Epstein's death he left Apple and joined a band called Heavy Jelly featuring bassist Alex Dmochowski (from Aynsely Dunbars Retaliation), guitarist John Moorshead and Carlo Little (drums), who released a single on Head Records, "Chewn In"/"Time Out" Head HDS 4001, 1969). During that period a Heavy Jelly LP made up entirely of Jackie Lomax songs was recorded but issued for promotional purposes only. It was never commercially released.

This album here, on the cool Psycho label, is an exact re-issue of the very sought after and nearly impossible to find PROMO LP, released on the small Head Records label in the UK only. There is currently NOT ONE original copy for sale on ebay WORLDWIDE.

This album comes from my own collection and is in a pristine condition.
