Description

Here is a collection of 1980s metal and hard-rock photo prints from the archives of the long defunct Blast! magazine. The photos are a mix of official publicity photos and snapshots from the magazine's own photographers. Most are 8" x 10", but some are smaller, a few larger—there are about 80 photos in total. The bands include some major acts like Slayer, Saxon, Rainbow, Iron Maiden, Metal Church, Journey, Motley Crüe, ZZ Top and Testament; as well as lesser knowns like Mad Max, Bloodgood and Liege Lord; a few total unknowns (Cobalt Blue, Jesse & Fire); and a few unmarked photos of mystery bands. The set includes a handwritten note that reads: “Brian: Here are all the old photos I pulled from the Blast! photo file...” (see pic #2 above). Most of the prints are in excellent condition, but a few have some notes on them in grease pencil (which can be easily removed) from the magazine's layout editor, and one or two have creases or cuts. Some are extremely rare.
