HELLEN CARR ~ SELF TITLED/ (RARE) BETHLEHEM
-DOWN IN DEPTHS OF 90th FLR 1955.
***** and important jazz original jazz date in exceptional original condition ***With the exception of one song cut with Charles Mingus in 1946 Carr's jazz vocal recordings were very limited. Carr's mid-1950s Bethlehem Recording dates consisted of only two Bethlehem Jazz album recorded dates before her tragic death in 1960 at age 36 cut tragically short a jazz vocalist who could easily sing the haunted blues numbers and at the same time bring the up-tempo swing jazz on any track. put of the very talented but short-lived jazz singer best record. NO this is NOT the reissue nor a compilation, but the original 10" self-titled Bethlehem vinyl recording- each track! kills!
Considered a rare 10” Bethlehem album in superb original condition - GOOD LUCK FINDING A CLEANER ORIGINAL COPY! Currently, via a quick research on major online archival jazz sources and European jazz sources I know, there is simply NO BETTER copy than this particular one.

DEEP GROOVE -BOTH SIDES- FIRST U. S. PRESSING
*** Original iconic JAZZ Photographer BURT GOLDBLATT somber dark NYC skys-craper photo (sadly my iphone failed to pick-up the deep blue tones of this stunning cover..) with 'lonely' 90th floor light on..
VINYL: SIDE 1 ( EX-)GLOSSY! SEEMS LITTLE HANDLED- No finger oil markings on either side of the bright maroon labels; deep groove mid-1950s pressing - just stunning copy.
** does have to very small mm markings first SIDE 1 tracks 1& 2. Finger nail test and feelable.
(( Playgraded on a V15 Cart vintage Thorens' turntable; KLIPSCH RP-8060FA tower speakers on room with all wood floor. Plays like a BLueNote - bold signature sounds voice and brass.. tics some in about 5-8 rotations for both marks; vocals and instrumentations clearly overpower - tics minor background -= each track very enjoyable with typical mid-'50s quality sound stage production here- (see photos for your remote evaluation).
SIDE 2: EX+ NO condition issues noted under strong light)
COVER: VG++ ( glossy front photo;- all seams tight except top front about quarter way split.NO names or defacements; orig price sticker reverse side remains. STUNNING Goldblatt photo.an original cover!!
