1955 EmArcy MG-36006 Mono First Pressing, silver rimmed label, laminated cover with blue printing to back. Matrix stampers: Side 1: [YMG 36006 MF2 A1 1], Side 2: [YMG 36006 MF1 A1 1]

Condition:

Vinyl: VG-, fully tested with no skips or repeats, good overall sound quality, considerable markings, small surface tears to side 2 label, in plain paper sleeve; Cover: G+, old tape repairs to top and bottom, flaking along spine, toning to back edges, no ring marks. Graded using the Goldmine standard scale.

Rare, first pressing of this sought after jazz classic, featuring Helen Merrill on vocals, Clifford Brown on trumpet, Danny banks flute, Barry Galbraith on guitar, Milt Hinton on bass, Osie Johnson on drums, (Clark Terry on trumpet, Oscar Pettiford on bass also credited), Jimmy Jones on Piano, with arrangements and liner notes by Quincy Jones.

Here is a recent question about this album, with my reply:

Q: Tell me the degree of VG-, please. (VINYL: Scratch noise & crackling noise & Background noise & tick & distortion of the sound & needle mark etc.)

A: Hi, thanks for your interest. Right up front: this is not an audiophile copy. There are several pops of varying degrees with low crackling throughout, especially during the quieter moments, with some distortion at crescendos. No sustaining groove wear that I can discern. The worst damage is to track #1, with repeated pops throughout. There are several marks on both sides, as stated, but I felt the sound quality to be good overall and quite listenable. I have very good turntables - a linear Mitsubishi and a belt drive Pioneer, both with cartridges less than 6 months old, both early 1980s - but not high end turntables. I graded this by referring back to the Goldmine guidelines, something I use all the time, but for this album, I took a brief refresher course for posterity. In my opinion, the significant value of this record lies in the pressing, and less in the audio quality, and obviously not in the cover condition.
