NUTSHELL: THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL OVER 50 YEAR OLD ORIGINAL HELEN MERRILL LP, ONE OF THE BEST AND MOST COLLECTIBLE OF ALL. IT'S HARD TO STOP LISTENING TO IT WITH HELEN'S BLUESY VOICE PERFECTLY INTEGRATED WITH THE STRINGS IN THE BACKGROUND. THIS HAS TO BE RATED AT ONE OF GREATEST JAZZ VOCALS OF ALL TIME.
Vinyl Visual Condition: VG++ NO VISIBLE SCRATCHES. SHEEN GENERALLY NICE, WORN IN PLACES.
Cover & Label Condition: EX, THE BEST THAT AN OLD EMARCY RECORD CAN GET. NO PROBLEMS SUCH AS SPLITS, WRITING, ETC. SHRINK ATTACHED TO COVER AGING AS WITH ANY OLD EMARCY RECORD THAT WASN'T KEPT IN A VAULT.
Vinyl Playrade: VG+ THE BEGINNING OF SIDE ONE HAS SOME TICKS. VERY LIGHT TICKS IN OTHER PLACES, N0T DISTRACTING FROM THE EXQUISITE BEAUTY OF HELEN'S VOICE.
RECORD GRADES: SEALED, NM, EXC, VG+, VG, VG-, G, FAIR, POOR.I grade strictly under bright light. My highest grade for an unsealed record is NM (NEAR MINT) - a record must look like new to be graded NM! An EXC record will show only slight signs of prior play. A VG+ is a solid used record that should play well but has minor visual flaws. A VG has more obvious flaws BUT is not trashed. Records graded VG- or worse will often play much better than they look.
