I have been asked for a little more information and so here is that question and my answer... although it doesn't really add very much, I'm afraid.

Hello, Does this record play with pops and crackle? Any deep scratches or scuffs? Thank you.

hello,
As I say in the ad.. I don't have a way to play records. I check them visually. In this case, there ARE visible surface marks but, running my fingertips over the vinyl, I cannot "Feel" any actual scratches or scuffs and certainly nothing that I would refer to as "deep". I DO think that it would benefit from a good proper cleaning but I have found that collectors like to do that themselves and, frankly, I'd probably screw it up and so I don't even try.
If you do the "hover and zoom" thing over the two pictures, the resulting pictures/scans are pretty accurate to the real life.
And, frankly, that's about all I can say. It IS fifty years old and it HAS been played.. but it has also obviously been well taken care of throughout it's life. I also DO know that the person I got it from, in a batch of records, was the only owner prior to me buying it.
I don't know what else to say.. but a glance at my feedback should at least tell you that I am truthfully describing the record. After that, it's a matter of personal semantics.
And frankly, as to "clicks and pops" I've worked in and around the record biz for most of my life and know that records can come direct from the factory and still have such "defects".. I'm sure you have had the same experience.
regards
tony

and another question...

OK. Your VG / EX, is that VG to Ex condition or VG vinyl, EX label? Thanks again.

Hmm - I hadn't thought about rating the label itself. As I say in the ad, there is a "mark" on the outer label of "Stop and...." which is clear on the picture. It APPEARS as though the label itself has been "scrunched" over a little.. if you look and follow from the "W" in the word "will" in the title and follow it down through the "L" in "Helen" all the way down to the "D" in "Made" - where the "D" is almost missing, you will see it. I can "feel" it.. as a slight raised line.. literally just as if the label, on application, had been somehow, scrunched up a little .
The inner section of the label has several squiggles which can be seen when moving the record in the light and there are slight scuffs around the spindle hole itself....
But, like I keep saying, it's a USED record.. so I cannot see how such minor damage would not have occurred anyway.
I also should remind you that, again - as I say in the ad - my "ratings" system is NOT the same as any of the usual books and reference materials... I say very good to excellent because I feel that for a fifty year old record that has been played for pleasure it IS in very good to excellent shape.. in fact, having had to look a lot closer to answer your questions, I think it's in superb condition.
But, as I said earlier, that's a personal semantics thing... and, frankly, one of the reasons why I don't like selling vinyl on-line. Most of my records are in a little record shop in my garage which I have a small group of customers who come visit and buy. VERY rarely do I get an urge to throw some on ebay.
Anyway, hope all that gibberish helps.

Dear soulfunknmore,

Grading System - Please read carefully.

The Records/Books/Tapes that I sell are generally quite old and they are USED.... If you expect a fourty year old record or book to look like it just came out of the shop - these are probably not for you.
The adjectives that I use to describe them are NOT based on Record Collector - or any other "source" - they are simple English terms.
If you have any doubts or questions and would like further clarification - please ask BEFORE YOU BID.

I no longer own a turntable so I have not played any of these records unless otherwise stated.

But I have removed each one from it's cover, wiped it gently with a DRY micro-static cloth and then looked carefully at it with my reading glasses on... if there was any VISIBLE marks that looked as if they would resist a PROPER cleaning with proper cleaning solution, then I simply discarded the disk.

I do not attempt to re-glue old seams that have simply come apart with age or remove sticky labels or their residue as, frankly, I'll probably mess it up. Such things are easy for the buyer to repair in their own way.

If you have any questions - don't hesitate to ask.

My scans and/or photos are real.

Postage Rates : Please read carefully
I have decided to stop trying to fight the system. The postage rates are those set/suggested by Ebay when I place the ad.

I DO combine shipping for multiple items.

If you win an item but are bidding on another,  just let me know and I will adjust the postage when the second item finishes.

I try to grade my items accurately & often undergrade,
I do want the customer to be happy with their purchase, so if for any reason you disagree with my grading or have any other problems with the transaction please contact me to discuss it before leaving feedback, I will try to help if I can.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS - PLEASE NOTE
The item will be well packed, within a new padded envelope and mailed to UK Shipping Centre.

thank you
tony
I DO offer refunds for GENUINE problems - but I reserve the right to decide on the circumstances. If in doubt, check my feedback.

Please check out my other listings, updated often.
