Description

On offer is the Helene Smith Northern Soul US Import Demo 7" Single "You Got To Be A Man" from 1969.

This is actually the B-Side and is a truly superb midtempo R&B-style dancer which has an almost hypnotic rhythm and features an excellent horn section along with an almost blues like vocal. Quite bizarrely the lyrics sound very similar in places to Kiss by Prince. Written by Little Beaver. The A-Side is an every bit as good R&B ballad with the same great vocals. Co-written by Clarence Reid.

This is a very rare record as a stock copy never mind as a demo and is in fantastic condition.

This is an original US Import White Label Demo on the collectable Phil-L.A. Of Soul label from Philadelphia which has Mastered by Frankford & Wayne, Phil. PA stamped in both run-out grooves.

TRACKS:

SIDE A: (Without) Some Kind Of Man

SIDE B: You Got To Be A Man

LABEL/CAT.NO: US Phil-L.A.Of Soul 325 (White Label Demo)

GRADED: EX

Comes in a brown paper sleeve.

UK 1st Class Postage £1.75. EEC Airmail £3.50. Rest Of The World Airmail £4.50.

This record has been play graded and plays perfectly without any jumps or sticks.
