Description

Henry Ernest Geehl, September 28, 1881 - January 14, 1961, was an English pianist, composer, conductor and arranger. He studied piano with Benno Schönberger and R.O. Morgan in London, and with Anton Schlieber in Vienna. He toured as a pianist and conductor  and joined 1919 the Trinity College of Music as a teacher. His song "For You Alone" achieved great popularity, being recorded by Caruso, Lauritz Melchior, Jussi Björling, Mario Lanza and many others. Beetween 1939 and 1946 he conducted the orchestra for more than 90 recordings by Richard Tauber.

1 = mint, never played on gramophone, is not used

1-2 = top copy, no traces of use - virtually as new

2 = excellent copy, few light non-sounding rubs/marks

2-3 = light traces of wear (rubs/marks), very light greying and/or light scratches, non sounding blemishes

3 = a good average copy with more noticeable rubs and marks; light greying, few light scratches possible

3-4 = more traces of use, sonic wear from light greying. An inferior average copy, light scratches possible

4 = some sounding wear, heavier rubs and marks, scratches possible

5 = obvious sounding wear, heavy rubs, marks, scratches. An unsatisfactory copy.
