HERBIE HANCOCK “Empyrean Isles” RVG, Blue Note BLP 4175 Mono Vinyl

This is the “Van Gelder” stamped pressing of HERBIE HANCOCK’s “Empyrean Isles” on the "New York USA” labels of Blue Note BLP 4175. Musicians include Herbie Hancock, Freddie Hubbard, Ron Carter, Tony Williams.

VINYL plays with consistent  low to medium surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, ?? or ????, relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with occasional pops and ticks. Ensemble sections are clear, dynamic and strong. No skips. Good gloss. Many hairline marks, none feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The “New York USA” labels are clean, spindle wear. Original inner sleeve included. See photos.

COVER is in good shape. “Gary” in carved into cover. Many wrinkles. Corners worn. Top and bottom seam taped end to end. Spine worn. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 43 West 61st St., New York 23” back jacket shows wear, tape, red marker writing. Please see photos.

   

This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER.
