Description

Delivered in line with Record Store Day, this reissue of Maiden Voyage is being released to celebrate the record’s 50th anniversary - and just so happens to drop the day after Herbie Hancock turns 75.

Pressed on green vinyl, the concept-driven LP is regularly cited among the Chicago legend’s defining works, with the likes of Dolphin Dance, Eye of the Hurricane and Maiden Voyage itself each becoming jazz standards.

Described by The Penguin Book of Jazz as “a colossal achievement” and by AllMusic as “arguably his finest record of the ‘60s,” it’s a bare essential for any jazz listener.

And, with the 192/24 source audio intact, what better way to experience this masterpiece than on wax in its original form?

Green vinyl.
Cut from original 192/24 source audio.
