- For sale is an authentic, Beatles butcher cover 'paste-over' album aka ‘2nd state’ jacket. Issued in 1966, this recalled LP was pasted over with the now familiar trunk cover slick. This is a REALLY nice copy with no seam splits or any attempt at peeling! Very small ding in lower rt corner. Comes with original inner slv. & record. The LP is well played and shows many scuffs but as you know, this auction is about the jacket. Shows some ‘foxing’ or minor brown spots from the past 55 yrs but certainly minimal and much nicer than this one that sold in July ‘21 for a $1,000 [https://www.ebay.com/itm/174845083084]
- The RIAA #3 on back indicates Scranton pressing plant. Supposedly the glue on #3 is easier to peel than the #6 copies but that is up to the winner. Many believe that leaving the trunk cover on ‘as issued’ makes these more valuable.
- As an added bonus included in the auction the winner will receive a reproduction mono butcher slick - exact size & color of the original. Frame these together or show your friends what’s hidden beneath the trunk cover. Listed at 19.66 - the year released - to give everyone a fair shot at it owning this desirable collectible!!
