HERO, ‘Living In The Land Of Oz’ b/w ‘Captain Video’ (Inter Planetary Records, 45, 1979)
Extremely rare, self-issued late glam AOR single - strangely only ever released in Australia - by the same HERO who had previously recorded two albums under the supervision of MICHAEL LLOYD and the patronage of KIM FOWLEY for Mercury and 20th Century. This, the band’s last gasp, continues in the strutting, post-glam hard rock style of their LP’s, while the flip pursues a more subdued AOR direction. Both songs are strong efforts, expertly produced by LLOYD, that undeservedly failed to attract an audience, undoubtedly owing to the small pressing size of the single.
