Offered for sale is a limited-edition 180 gram copy of Hi Fi A La Espanola by the Eastman-Rochester “Pops” Orchestra, conducted by Frederick Fennell, pressed by Classic Records.  It has been played exactly twice.

Originally recorded in 1957 and released in mono and stereo a short time later, Hi-Fi a La Espanola is regarded as one of the best-sounding classical recordings of all time.  Original pressings on Mercury often sell for hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of dollars on the rare occasions when they turn up for sale.  Classic Records has twice reissued the album, once at 180 gram weight and once at 200 gram.  As collectors know, Classic had numerous production problems with their 200 gram disks, and many of them were warped, even when new.  The 180 gram pressings were much more uniformly flat, as is this example.

Classic's reissues attempted to reproduce the original cover artwork and record label exactly, and aside from the cover being printed on posterboard rather than a paper slick, the reproduction is quite good.

THE RECORD

This record was purchased new, and has been played twice on a high end turntable.  The disk is in M- condition and is, unlike a lot of Classic pressings, actually flat.

THE COVER

The cover is in VG++ condition, with a couple of dings on the corners and one bent corner.  Other than that, it looks great.

No cut-out (drill) holes.
No cut-out corners
No saw-marks or indents
No dirt/dust rubbing stains (friction marks caused by rubbing against other covers)
No yellowing from aging
No writing
No stamps
No tearing: no chips, dents or nicks on the seams
No peel-off marks
No stains
No mold or mildew spots
No stickers or labels
No water damage
No razor marks, scratches, pressure marks, lines, streaks, or  cuts.
No warping
No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover
No glue traces or wax residue.
No bar codes
No RIAA stamps or stickers. 

Neither one of Classic's reissues of this iconic album were in print for very long, and copies put up for sale usually sell quickly.  If you're a fan of well recorded classical music or Spanish-themed music, this one's for you.

Packaging:

We use thick cardboard boxes specially designed for LPs and cardboard fillers to ensure records are well protected during shipping.  If your item is damaged during shipping, please contact us so that we may file an insurance claim.

We ship worldwide, but we do not ship to France, Italy, or South America.

Shipping costs will be calculated after the winning bid is submitted to ensure that costs are accurate depending upon resident's address, the item's weight and type of shipping service.

Combined shipping is available.

Please request an invoice at the end of the auction, so that we may provide you with the discounted shipping rate. We suggest that you wait for us to invoice you first because more than likely your international shipping cost will be reduced from eBay's shipping calculator once we verify the actual weight and adjust the shipping price.
