Certainly know that I do not mean my "Hi-Fi Heaven" category to appear coy. But there are indeed a select group of records discovered over the years that aren't on anyone's list and otherwise aren't generally recognized for their musical and sonic achievements.
These I label "Hi-Fi Heaven," as they represent a cadre of audiophile opinions about vinyl gathered by me, with my ears, and the ears about me whom I have learned to trust.
This disc of the Liszt as played by Mehta during his tenure with the LA Phil was recorded by the same team that captured the well-recognized PLANETS, and it is every bit as dramatic. The crunch of the trumpets, the sweep of the strings, the drums as they roll and billow across your listening room floor…it is as stunning as a record can be.
THE BATTLE OF THE HUNS is an audiophile knock-out: Jacket has some ring and left-over sticker remnants; UK pressing inside will play near mint.

Shipping and handling is $5 for up to 5 LPs shipped within the States. Internationally, $15 via airmail for the first LP, $4 each thereafter. (Canada is half that.) Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $6, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail. Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
