HI-FI HEAVEN:
Ry Cooder -
JAZZ -
Warner BSK-3197 – Promo “Hot Stamper” -
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!
One of the most naturally recorded albums I've heard, with music that is simply enticing: Blues to all out jazz, to just plain pickin' some.
Cooder being one of the most eclectic of guitar players, brings along a cadre of top-shelf personnel, in Earl Hines, David Lindley, and Red Callender, on, yes, the tuba.
Musical fare covers a gamut, trust me, but just place the stylus down on side 1, cut 1, for BIG BAD BILL IS SWEET WILLIAM NOW. That launches the audiophile/music loving proceedings. A gas, recorded very, very well. (The sound is awesome, particularly from this first-stamper promo copy, which is the best I’ve ever seen or heard.)
Jacket of this copy is without major fault, record inside is very clean indeed, and should play near mint, if not better.
One of the most refreshing albums I know of. A rare listening treat, guaranteed.
For other fine records, TAS picks and hard-to-finds, please see my complete list of offerings here on eBay.
Shipping and handling is $5 for up to 5 LPs shipped within the States. Internationally, $15 via airmail for the first LP, $3 each thereafter. (Canada is half that.) Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $6, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail. Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
