Grading Code:

N-: As close to possible to being a mint copy, practically unplayed.

E+: Almost as good as N- but just slightly below it, record has been played a few times but will not show.

E:  Some slight evidence of age or handling (fine scratches, scuffs, rubs). Minimal groove wear. May have some slight surface noise, and slight greying in grooves, though not excessive.

E-: Very close to "E" but with slightly more wear from handling and age. Still minimal groove wear from playing.

E-/V+: Threshold for the beginning of noticeable groove wear. Plus more of the usual culprits: scratches, scuffs, abrasions etc. A record grades E-/V+ does not look "good" in the way "E" graded records do. E-/V+ plays very nicely though - except some surface noise.

V+: Obvious wear, but not excessive. Slightly more surface noise. Record may play like E- but look VG. Still quite enjoyable to listen to.

VG: The record still plays well though there may be quite a bit of greying in grooves for some copies.

VG-: Much like VG but distortion in playing and greying in grooves and scratches are more obvious and interfere with listening pleasure. Record may skip in places or have a few stripped grooves.

G:  A passable copy that in G+ can play strongly enough to half-way enjoy the music, but in G- the music is nearly overwhelmed by the noise. Considerable greying and very dull surface.

F, P: Unplayable, useful only if extremely rare or as a wallhanger.
