This auction is for the following rare LP:
MEGA RARE UK 1958 FIRST PRESSING STEREO LP ON HMV ASD 279 (WITH VERY FIRST LABEL DESIGN - GOLD AND CREAM).
"NIGHTS IN VIENNA" by THE VIENNA PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA conducted by RUDOLF KEMPE.

Anyone looking at this listing knows how rare this is...but I will allow the bidders to decide it's true value here.
THE RECORD - VERY GOOD, VISUAL SHAPE. ONLY REALLY DISPLAYING SIGNS OF FEW PLAYS AND SOME VERY LIGHT SURFACE SCRATCHES AND SOME MILD SCUFFING. THE LP STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL GLOSS AND GREAT SHINE. THE RECORD PLAYS VERY WELL AND I ENJOYED LISTENING TO IT. PERHAPS A DEEP CLEAN USING A RECORD CLEANING MACHINE WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA AND MAY REMOVE SOME OF THE DUST IN THE GROOVES WHICH MAY BE CONTRIBUTING TO THE LIGHT SURFACE NOISE FOUND IN THE QUIETER PASSAGES. DOES PLAY VERY STRONGLY THOUGH AND THIS IS A VERY RARE ITEM - A MINT ONE WOULD BE EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND!
LABELS - VERY NICE WITH BARELY ANY SIGNS OF USE. NO WRITING, STICKERS ETC OR OTHER DEFECTS OF ANY KIND AT ALL.
INNER SLEEVE - THE INNER SLEEVE PRESENTED WITH THIS LP IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION.
COVER - LIGHTLY DISCOLOURED ON REVERSE AND TWO INCH SEAM SPLIT ON TOP SEAM ON RIGHT CORNER. HOWEVER, SPINE IS STRONG AND THE SLEEVE IS STILL VERY ATTRACTIVE! VERY GOOD CONDITION. NO OTHER DAMAGE AND NO STICKERS (APART FROM ORIGINAL STEREO STICKER ON FRONT) OR WRITING AT ALL.
So, there it is - NOT MINT but a very decent example...and a super rare item.
I think my minimum bid is fair in comparison to other copies I have seen on ebay and elsewhere in the last few years (not that there have been many).
