QRS 7003 in great condition
The label says that WRONG WOMAN BLUES is with banjo, but it's not so.
It is a great violin blues with guitar acc. and good vocal. Sounds to me close to the
stretching of the notes that the State Street Boys' Carl Martin did with his fiddle.
Other side, with banjo indeed, sounds more like Papa Charlie Jackson.
Check out the Document CD 5370 'Hokum Blues (1924-1929)' where these tracks were
re-issued, or the book 'Blues Lyric Poetry: An Anthology' for the lyrics of 'Wrong Woman Blues'.
'The performances are quite obscure' (says All Music Guide). Right.
