Description
Up for grabs is a very rare 10" 78 rpm record called "Holdin You in my Holden" which was released as a promotional item by General Motors in Australia in the 1950's.
One side is an instrumental by Lou Topanno and his Orchestra...the other side features Joan Clarke on vocals with Lou Toppano and Co backing.
Record is in reasonable/average condition for its age. Retains a bit of its original sheen, has lots of light marks on both sides and a couple of deeper ones. No cracks, warps etc. I don't have a 78 rpm player to test play it, but i have played it at 33 rpm and it played through without skipping/sticking and had acceptable level of background noise. I don't know it will play at 78 rpm...please bid accordingly.
A side label is in Good/Average condition, with some sticky tape residue, a small tearaway and slight wear around spidle hole. B side label is Very Good, with light spindle marks, scuffs and wear around hole.
Comes in a blue "Batman Record Bars Melbourne" cardboard sleeve.
This is a very rare record in any condition....ive only ever seen one other copy pop up on Ebay over the years. A must for any collector of vintage Australian music or General Motors/Holden memorabilia. Would make a great bar/shed/man cave display piece!
