The matrix numbers are XEX 617-1G (side 1) and XEX 618-1G (side 2)
The sleeve is the original EMI gatefold laminated cover, identical to the one used on the Beatles' fourth album 'Beatles For Sale'. Collectors will know that these covers age very quickly due to their design. The front cover fold is only very thin and extremely prone to creasing, scuffing, laminate breaks, becoming mis-shaped and even tearing. The spines of these gatefold covers are known to virtually disintegrate. The inner part of the gatefold is prone to damage as the record is stored inside the gatefold. This particular copy is stunning in comparison. The laminated parts (front and back) are still shiny and the colour is stunning and unfaded. The spine is still well formed with the title fully legible. Just a few creases to the spine (worst crease over the 'o' in 'Hollies'), a little laminate lift down the spine (very common on this type of sleeve) and a slightly scuffed corner at the bottom left of the spine where on the back the laminate has split less than 1cm let the cover down. Front cover is still intact with the rest of the gatefold and has one tiny crease line next to the word 'mono'. The inner of the gatefold is still white, the flipbacks all secure. I am being very picky but it has to be said that this is one of the best sleeves I've seen for this album in a while. It retains all of it's vibrancy and is very clean and presentable....EX++
The beautiful thick slab of vinyl is the usual quality expected of a 1966 Parlophone pressing, retaining its original shine, Has quite a few very tiny faint lines visible under a strong light...VG++ The labels vibrant and clean, just a few light spindle marks under light and finger marks, which will probably clean off. The KT tax code is clear on the side 1 labe....-MINT The original 1966 EMI advertising sleeve is included which is in excellent condition.
