HOLLINS & STARR "Sidewalks Talking" ORIGINAL Hip Stoned Folk Psych lp UNPLAYED!!

1970/USA/Ovation Records OVQD-1407......The cover on this original pressing is in VG condition. This original pressing was Sealed when I found it but had a complete top split seam and the shrink was messy and had a cut corner, corner dings/wear. I opened it and we have a M- perfect Unplayed pressing. I did however play the first 30 seconds to make sure the thin flexable vinyl was flat and played quiet. Thus the M- grade instead of MINT. It does play flat and quiet from what I heard. A Quadraphonic 1st pressing! Please check my listings for other prog and psych lp’s. Good luck and thanks for looking!

Chicago- based duo Chuck Hollins and David Starr only made this one album, which originally appeared in 1970 on the Ovation label. All we know about them is what the original ads for the album said: “David Starr learned piano when he was three, began composing when he was four. At twenty- one he was playing flute with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Chuck Hollins picked up a guitar one day and just started playing.... by the time he left Northwestern with his Creative Writing degree he was turning his poetry into music. 
Listening to it is a rich, rewarding experience. This is a perfectly produced and arranged record, an ode to the free mind, structured by intelligent considerations. And as another person has said, “No wonder it has been sampled by DJ Shadow.” Ovation said at the time of its release, “Classical artistry rock and sidewalk poetry.” All true. Very cool. Hip, mellow, and stoned.

MINT: as stated with no defects

NEAR MINT: as stated near Mint!, or Mint Minus, same thing, very clean with no defect to sound or visual appearance, one scuff or mark may be permitted but it will be mentioned in the description, a near Mint record looks and plays very clean

EXCELLENT: not much below near Mint, may have a delete hole and/or a minor defect or two not visually detracting from the cover, the vinyl will appear shiny and in clean condition with very minor defects not affecting the sound, still very clean and very collectable!

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal cover wear and/or delete/splits, still visually appealing, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much

VG+ a little more cover/ring wear and delete, splits etc., the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects, both cover and vinyl no matter the condition.
