Description
This is a VERY RARE record. I bought it new in 1981 and it's been sitting on my shelf ever since. The cover has a bit of shelf wear. But the vinyl inside plays in excellent condition. I only played it four times over all. (I have over 11,000 LPs.) Essentially it's an independent Gospel LP that's aimed at a secular market. (The blues rockin' Larry Norman cover of Why Should the Devil Have All the Good Music? makes that clear.)It's got some Serious Funk. Some Michael Jackson style soul. And what must be the FIRST GOSPEL RAP SONG. Musically it's quite fascinating. The ONLY reason I'm selling it is because I need to. Otherwise I'd never part with it. The songs have the lyrics with them. Apart from a few traditional gospel songs, many of these songs deal with Christian hypocrisy, the corruption of money and power, life in the city.
Songs:
Prisoner of Madison Avenue
Daddy
Mr. Ugly (The Gospel Rap song)
You're the One
The Blessing
Journey
Why Should the Devil Have All the Good Music?
Preacher Man
Mansion in the Sand
And Then I Died
The Bridge
Just Friends
It's a RARE ALBUM! Good Luck. If the final auction is over $500 then shipping is free anywhere in the world. (Express Mail would be extra though.)
