Village Of The Snake God by The Hologram People is catnip for lovers of fuzzy guitars and haunting, occult musical atmospheres. It draws on elements of psych, folk, jazz and Giallo while summonsing up the vibe of burnt-out acid heads from the 1960s the long, dark decade that ensued in the 70s. If you can imagine a mix of Black Mountain, Popol Vuh and Rajneeshpuram you would be in the right ball park and sonic space as this most wonderfully weird album. One for immersive and freaky late night sessions.
