Even the sound that emanates from the vinyl of this 45-year-old white label promo LP is astonishing and conclusively more pronounced than the stock copy pressings that followed.
“Led Zeppelin II” represents the band’s most extraordinary master class in riff complexity that deceptively comes off as simplicity. No one, and I mean no one, can seem to come within a planet’s distance of matching Jimmy Page’s Thor-hammering riffs on this LP. The riffs on songs such as “Whole Lotta Love” and “Heartbreaker” seem as basic as a Picasso painting until you try to replicate it.
John Bonham’s nuclear-fueled drumming sounds particularly pulsating.
Believe me, this extremely scarce album is worth every penny and then some. If the actual sounds of music can be displayed in a museum, this album would have its own exhibit.
MINT- Vinyl!!!Just a few very minor pops and crackles in the dead wax that starts off each side. Very insignificant. And from the very moments that the first song on each side starts, what you hear is Analog royalty.
The gatefold cover is in VERY STRONG VERY GOOD Condition! Solid, sturdy, fully intact! Very minor age discoloration. The only notable imperfection is a moisture swell at the top edges of the cover. But as you can see from the photo scans, they are evident but not at all obtrusive or impairing to the overall projection of the cover unless you prefer to stare at it for hours.
