Description

Here is a copy of the much sought-after LP, Story by Honeybus, on original UK Deram (SML 1056) of 1970. This album of sixties psych was, like The End's Introspection, issued belatedly, after the band had disintegrated; without promotion Story plummeted into oblivion until being rediscovered as a lost gem a few years back.

This original thick heavy slab of vinyl is near perfect. I can detect only a couple of slight spindle marks on either label, indicating very little play. No marks are detectable on the vinyl; even under harsh halogen lighting I cannot see a mark. I feel confident in grading this vinyl a strong EX. It sits perfectly flat on the turntable, very tightly on the spindle, and plays beautifully and vividly with great stereo clarity. A wonderful hardly played listening experience complete with backwards guitar, distortion and harmonies.

At first glance the original front laminated cover with its MONO/STEREO hole looks great but there are a couple of flaws. On the rear, top right, is a small Tippexed-over 'X', possibly a deletion mark. And far more significantly, although the front looks fine in these photos, when angled to the light you see that the laminate has been damaged somehow - it looks as though someone was scrawling on something over it and it has left an impression of scrawl all over the laminate. A curious shame. On this account the cover can only grade Fair (UK Record Collector gradings) although nevertheless it is a perfectly serviceable 'working' sleeve offering all the relevant information which should suffice until a better sleeve comes along.

Good luck if you are bidding but please contact me first for likely postal costs if you are bidding from outside the UK. Immediate payment required at end of auction please. And don't forget to check out my other rare vinyl currently listed.
